About Little Bits

We are pleased to announce that Little Bits Rescue & Adoption has been granted 501c(3) status by the Internal Revenue Service. This means that contributions to the rescue are now deductible for tax purposes since we are a recognized charity. This applies to any contributions that have been made since our incorporation on January 26, 2009. We appreciate your continued support.

We are a group whose members have been in rescue for anywhere from a year to several years. The best way to contact us is by email at info@littlebitsrescue.org. We are an organization involved in the rescue and re-homing of toy breed dogs (15 pounds and under). We are dedicated to saving the lives of pets that would otherwise die in shelters or be surrendered to shelters. Once those lives are safe and in our homes (we do NOT have a shelter), they are spayed or neutered, brought up to date on vaccinations, heart worm tested, treated if positive, and started on flea, tick and heartworm prevention. We also try to crate train and house train any dog that is not already. You will notice that very few of our pets are suitable for homes with small children. We do try to make mention in the pets "bio" what minimum age child with which we think the pet would be okay, but age 10 is usually an absolute minimum (Please see "Children and Small Dogs").

Our main office is in Birmingham, Alabama. However, we have foster homes throughout the state of Alabama. New volunteers are welcomed from any state. If you are interested in becoming a foster parent, please let us know. We are always in need of donations to help with our rescued babies.
